Welcome to the International Version of the Transport Tycoon Forever! Website
This international version has been created in order to provide non-Russian speaking visitors with some information concerning what this site is about, and what can be found here.
Transport Tycoon is a transport strategy computer game where a player takes control of a transport company and makes a fortune by developing rail, road, sea and air transport services. The original Transport Tycoon was released by MicroProse in 1994. It was followed by Transport Tycoon Deluxe in 1995. The Deluxe version is still very popular, and numerous enhancements are provided by the unofficial TTDPatch and by the open-source Open Transport Tycoon.
There are many Transport Tycoon fans in Russia. Yet by 2004 most of the fan sites in the Russian language were almost dead, no one knew anything about TTDPatch or OpenTTD, and there was no place for the fans to discuss their favourite transport strategy games online.
That is why it was decided that a new site should be developed, and here's what has been done since then. In course of time there appeared articles on Transport Tycoon Deluxe, TTDPatch, OpenTTD, and other transport strategy games including Chris Sawyer's Locomotion, Simutrans, Mobility, Traffic Giant, Transport Giant, etc. The Russian name of the site is "Transport Tycoon navsegda!" ("navsegda" means "forever"), though the site is often referred to as simply "TTD Russia".
It should be mentioned that since the beginning this site has been aimed at the Russian-speaking audience. There are hundreds of Transport Tycoon-related web-sites in English, of which probably the most interesting and surely the most popular is called Transport Tycoon Forums. That is a home for many "tycooners", and most of the information - and lots of files - can be found there.
Yet our site is a home for a number of projects which are mentioned on the Projects page and which should be interesting for international visitors as well. Feel free to browse either these English pages, or the Russian site entirely translated by PROMT or Babelfish on-line translation services. The first one seems to get the sence better, but of course the choice is up to you. Later we plan to include Site Map in English and translate some events from the news section. An English section of our Forums will be available soon.
